As we move into the holiday buying season, deals are everywhere. That won’t stop anytime soon, but I feel like this deal on the Pixel 6a may not be eclipsed even by the wildness of Q4 price cuts. With an MSRP of $449, a drop of $150 is a pretty big deal for any piece of tech, and in this particular case, the Pixel 6a isn’t just some random phone. While it surely isn’t a perfect phone, it does hit a lot of high notes for a mid-ranger. With the same Tensor SoC as the Pixel 6, a stellar camera experience and the look/feel of the Pixel 6 line of phones, the Pixel 6a is a solid purchase at its full $449 MSRP. However, we know price cuts are part of the mid-range smartphone game, and the Pixel 6a has already had a few discounts along the way. We’ve seen it hit this exact $299 price point, actually, but it required purchase through a carrier and activation. This time around, that’s not the case. For an unknown amount of time, the Pixel 6a can be yours outright for $299 from a few places. Target, Amazon and the Google Store are all participating in the offer, so you are free to order online or hop over to your local Target store and simply pick one up. All three stores are carrying all three colors, but it looks like Target might be sold out of the Sage color at the moment. While these are definitely not the lowest prices we’ve seen on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro, it is worth taking a look at these devices if you’d like a bit more RAM, storage or higher refresh screen options. I’d say the Pixel 6 is likely worth the $200 upgrade over the Pixel 6a at these prices, but if your budget says otherwise, the Pixel 6a is still a solid phone. While we’ve seen better deals on the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro in the past, they required carrier activation. These current deals from Best Buy, Target and Amazon don’t carry any such requirements, so they should be in the conversation if you are looking at the Pixel 6a. In a recent conversation with a co-worker, it became clear to me pretty quickly that for most users, the benefits to the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro are minimal when compared to the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. Sure, there are upgrades, but the price gap between the two is pretty monumental with sales like these, so it’s worth considering the Pixel 6a, Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro right now for many of you. But act quickly: these things tend to disappear before you know it.
