The keenly awaited Akshay Kumar starrer Ram Setu hit screens today. Directed by Abhishek Sharma the film which also features Jacqueline Fernandez and Nushrratt Bharuccha surprisingly featured comparatively lower promotions. The advance bookings for the film have recorded less than decent numbers across the country. But will, Ram Setu which sees Akshay play the role of an archaeologist, manage to entice the audience this festive season of Diwali is the question. As per reports, Ram Setu has started off on a rather decent note with occupancy being pegged at 25% over morning shows. In fact, the film also witnessed a good spate of spot bookings, with some mass centres even featuring houseful boards as well. Speaking about the release on a pan-India scale, three national multiplex chains feature Ram Setu selling around 39,000 tickets over its advance booking period. However, the total ticket sales did not manage to cross 1 lakh limit. With this, the overall advance bookings for Ram Setu estimate an opening day collection of Rs. 1.50 cr. nett. However, given the festive season of Diwali and the holiday period that has put the audience in high spirits predictions state the film will see a good spate of spot bookings on its opening day. In fact, going by past examples, walk in audience on Diwali have always accounted for a major chunk of a film’s collections, and in the case of Ram Setu, this is likely to be true. As per these predictions, Ram Setu could see its Day 1 collections hovering between Rs. 12-13 cr. on Day 1.
