No social media for India pacer Bhuvneshwar during T20 World Cup

: Senior India pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar has revealed that he is staying off social media during the T20 World Cup 2022, adding it's helping him shut out the outside noise and focus on the job at hand. Bhuvneshwar has had a fine start to his World Cup campaign in Australia, having bowled as many as so far. Bhuvneshwar Kumar was under considerable pressure heading into the World Cup as he took on the onus of leading the Indian bowling attack in the absence of Jasprit Bumrah, who was ruled out due to an injury. Bhuvneshwar had been expensive at the death in the Asia Cup as he was taken to the cleaners by Pakistan and Sri Lanka in the Super 4 stages in the UAE in the 19th overs. Bhuvneshwar played against Australia at home and headed to the National Cricket Academy in Bengaluru for rehabilitation as he missed the T20I series at home against South Africa. The break seemed to have helped Bhuvneshwar as the senior pacer has been able to deliver efficiently with the ball so far in Australia. "During World Cup, I keep myself completely off from social media and have no idea what all is written about. Because it's the social media from which you come to know all these things," Bhuvneshwar told the media in Sydney, as quoted by PTI news agency. Speaking about his strong comeback, Bhuvneshwar said it's important to understand that ups and downs are part of the game and staying focused is key to finding success, especially in the T20 format which is tough on the bowlers. "In all these years, I have had this one off tournament. It's happened. It's done and dusted," he added. " The media and commentators can say a lot of things (about death bowling), but as a team, we knew that we will have our share of ups and downs. T20 is a format where it could be tough for bowlers and even for batters if the track is difficult one. But since Asia Cup is a big event people do tend to assess you that much more," he added. Bhuvneshwar said India's bowling unit has been trying to stick to the basics and not do anything extra to compensate for the absence of Bumrah. "The kind of bowler Bumrah is, certainly its a big loss for the team. It's not as if we would have to do something extra that Bumrah isn't around," he added. "Even if Bumrah would have been around, and if needed, we would have done those extra things. We are doing exactly what our strengths are." Heaping praise on Arshdeep Singh, Bhuvneshwar added: "He has been amazing since his debut. He was always asking about what kind of track will there be on offer and what kind of shots the batters will play on this track. He asks me and also Rohit and Virat. Considering his first T20 World Cup, he is doing really well."
