Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development, Food and Civil Supplies Ranjit Kumar Dass distributed the second phase of cheques
A CORRESPONDENTDHUBRI: Minister of Panchayat and Rural Development, Food and Civil Supplies Ranjit Kumar Dass distributed the second phase of cheques to financially weaker women beneficiaries for starting income generating activities under Micro Finance at a function held at Dhubri District Library Auditorium on Monday. Addressing the women beneficiaries, Dass said that the financial assistance given as loan had to be returned after earning profits from the business. "This time, cheques of Rs 2.48 crore will be distributed among 1,483 beneficiaries in Dhubri district. Further, in response to government's appeal to financially solvent families to surrender their BPL ration cards, 2,12,000 cards have been surrendered in Dhubri district against which equal number of new ration cards will be issued to poverty stricken family soon," Das added. The programme was attended by Dhubri Deputy Commissioner, Dibakar Nath, chairman of Dhubri Municipal Board, Dr. Debamoy Sanyal and former BJP legislators of Dhubri district.
