Google to stop updating Chrome browser on these Windows PCs from 2023

Google’s decision to end support for Windows 7 and Windows 8.1 users aligns with Microsoft’s decision to end support for these two operating systems starting January 10, 2023. An older version of Google Chrome will be available on these operating systems which will not receive the updates released for users and can put them at multiple risks.

The figures provided in this report are based on data from the vulnerability database (VulDB). This database has compiled the data from January 1 to October 5 and discovered that in this period of 10 months Google Chrome has already encountered 303 vulnerabilities. Meanwhile, the browser has faced a Edge’s Workspaces feature works similarly to Google Chrome’s Tab Groups, which has been available on the browser for some time.
