DAC election: 19 candidates to contest in 5 constituencies of Dhemaji

With October 25 being the last date for the withdrawal of the nomination papers for the Deori Autonomous Council (DAC) Election, 2022

A CORRESPONDENTLAKHIMPUR: With October 25 being the last date for the withdrawal of the nomination papers for the Deori Autonomous Council (DAC) Election, 2022, a total of three candidates withdrew their candidature from the contest in seven DAC constituencies under Lakhimpur district. Out of them, independent candidates Najitara Deori and Priyanka Deori withdrew their nominations papers from No. 16 Bahgora Constituency (ST, Woman) while another independent candidate Mitra Kumar Deori withdrew his nomination from No. 19 Kina Pothar Constituency (ST). A total of five candidates filed their nominations in No. 16 Bahgora Constituency (ST, Woman) and four candidates filed nominations in No. 19 Kina Pothar Constituency (ST). Notably, there are seven DAC constituencies in Lakhimpur district. These constituencies are No. 15 Bor Deori Constituency (ST), No. 16 Bahgora Constituency (ST, Woman), No. 17 Kachikota Constituency (ST), No. 18 Pisala Cnstituency (ST, Woman), No. 19 Kina Pothar Constituency (ST), No. 20 Bongalmora Constituency (ST) and No. 21 Gabharu Tunijan Constituency (ST). A total of 26 candidates representing various political parties like BJP, AGP, Congress, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) etc and independently submitted their nomination papers to contest in the DAC Election -2022 from these DAC constituencies till October 19 which was the last date for the candidates to submit their nomination papers. After withdrawal of the nomination papers by the three candidates, a total of 23 contestants are in fray. Out of them, five candidates will contest from No. 15 Bor Deori Constituency (ST). They are BJP candidate Amrit Prava Deori, Congress candidate Mahesh Deori, AAP candidate Umesh Deori, independent candidates Kamandar Deori and Sivashish Deori. AGP candidate Nandita Deori, Congress candidate Minu Deori and independent candidate Joyamai Deori will contest from from No. 16 Bahgora Constituency (ST, Woman). On the other hand, BJP candidate Uttam Deori independent candidates Biren Deori and Dipak Deori are in fray in the No. 17 Kachikota Constituency (ST) while BJP candidate Jurimai Deori, independent candidates Pushpanjali Deori and Rinkumoni Deori will contest in the election from No. 18 Pisala Constituency (ST, Woman). After withdrawal of the nomination paper by independent candidate Mitra Kumar Deori, BJP candidate Bishnu Kumar Deori, AAP candidate Haribrat Deori, independent candidate Bijumoni Deori are in fray in the No. 19 Kina Pothar Constituency (ST). Congress candidate Dipak Deori, BJP candidate Prafulla Deori, independent candidates Manmohan Deori and Ratneswar Deori are the final contestants in No. 20 Bongalmora Constituency (ST). On the other hand, only two candidates will fight in the election against each other in the No. 21 Gabharu Tunijan Constituency (ST). They are BJP candidate Rama Deori and independent candidate Mahesh Deori. On the other hand, no candidates withdrew their nominations in the five DAC constituencies under Dhemaji district. As a result of it, all the nineteen candidates, who filed their nominations till October 19 in the district, are in fray. As per report found, Congress candidate Thaneswar Deori, independent candidates Deva Kumar Deori, BJP candidate Bhabani Deori will contest in the election from No. 10 Sissiborgaon Constituency (ST) while Congress candidate Tutumoni Deori, BJP candidate Junmoni Deori and JPP (Jimosaya People's Party) candidate Binapani Deori will fight in No. 11 Sripani Constituency (ST, Woman). In Dhemaji district, highest number of candidates are in fray in fray in the No. 12 Gogamukh Constituency (ST). There are six contestants in this constituency. They are Independent candidate Hemchandra Bor Deori, Congress candidate Lakhi Prashad Deori, independent candidate Dharmendra Deori, BJP candidate Rakesh Bor Deori, AAP candidate Madhubala Deori Airia and JPP candidate Niruprabha Deori. On the other hand, AGP candidate Chidananda Deori, Congress candidate Royal Deori, Jintu Sun Deori will contest from No. 13 Bordoloni Constituency (ST) while Congress candidate Sarumai Deori, BJP candidate Hemanta Deori and JPP candidate Rajesh Deori will contest in No. 12 Jonai Constituency (ST) under the district. The polling of the DAC Election - 2022 will be held on November 8 and the result of the same will be declared on November 10. Six BJP candidates, one AGP candidates, three Congress candidates, two Aam Aadmi Party candidates and 11 independent candidates are in fray in the seven DAC constituencies under Lakhimpur district while five Congress candidates, four BJP candidates, one AGP candidate, three JPP candidates, two AAP candidates and four independent candidates are in contest in the Dhemaji district.
